What is Involved in Sponsoring the WNDG?

Sponsorship of the WNDG is very easy! All that is involved is agreeing to allow your organization to be listed as an official sponsor on all discussion group materials (i.e., pamphlets, brochures, websites etc.). Organizations which have official logos can also forward their logos to be added to this material.

In addition, some sponsors have indicated a desire to support the WNDG in other ways including:

  • Actively advertising the weekly discussions
  • Participating in the weekly discussions to learn more about the queer community
  • Donating funds for photocopying or refreshments
  • A willingness to provide guest speakers or facilitators for the discussion groups
  • Assisting with the development and hosting of web pages

Any assistance is always appreciated!

Sponsors are also able to withdraw their sponsorship at any time and will be apprised of any changes to the format or facilitation of the WNDG in the event any changes may impact their willingness to continue sponsorship of the group.

Benefits of Sponsorship

Sponsors of the WNDG will be recognized in all discussion group materials. This visible support can help establish the group as a supporter of the queer community and help increase the level of comfort of members of the queer community in accessing sponsors’ services.

Additionally, sponsors can request:

  • to be added to the WNDG E-mail list to receive updates on the Discussion Groups
  • that information on sponsor’s services and events that may be of interest to the queer community to be announced at discussion groups

How Do I Become a Sponsor of the WNDG?

To become a sponsor of the WNDG, simply e-mail Jeremy Steffler, the Lead Facilitator of the WNDG by e-mailing wndg-owner<at>lists.uwaterloo.ca (replace the <at> with the @ sign). In your e-mail, indicate:

  • What organization you are representing (along with some proof that you are able to officially represent the group, if necessary)
  • Confirmation of your permission to have your sponsorship publicly acknowledged in our brochures or web presence (once developed). Note: Please include an electronic copy of your organization’s logo if you would like it used.
  • Whether or not you would like your e-mail added to the WNDG E-mail List?
  • Any other support you be interested in providing to the WNDG.

Once again, sponsorship can be removed at any time, by e-mailing the Lead Facilitator.
