Queer Discussion Group Held at UW
Update on Food Services Machines!

I have an update from Food Services! It appears that the machines are owned by a supplier and they will be having the supplier in to hear how loud the machines and hopefully repair them. If repairs are not possible, they will be looking into options that will allow us to turn off the machines during the discussions. They have promised me that something will be in place for next week!
With any luck we will have a much quieter room for future discussions!
Come Out to Discuss “Coming Out” on January 20th!

Join us for our “termly” discussion of the coming-out process and its important role within the queer community! No matter what your public or private sexual orientation or gender identity, participants in these discussions are generally surprised by the diverse range of stories shared about coming our experiences! Hope to see you there!
Queer Gazette Arrives on January 13th!

Just a reminder that the January 13th discussion group will follow the Queer Gazette format! Feel free to bring along a newspaper, magazine or academic article related to the queer community that has been published within the past month to share during the discussion.

GSA Sponsorship for the WNDG?

The UW Grad Student Association has expressed an interest in sponsoring the WNDG! All that is required for official sponsorship is a list of five Graduate Students who regularly attend the WNDG and would be willing to put forward the appropriate paperwork for sponsorship.
As participation in the WNDG is confidential, we do not have any means of tracking which of our regular participants are UW Graduate Students. If you are a UW Graduate Student and willing to work with the WNDG Facilitator and the GSA to arrange sponsorship, please get in touch with the facilitator as your earliest convenience.
Volunteer Opportunities!

With the expansion of the online presence and the starting of the WNDG E-mail List (See Staying in Touch for more information) there are some opportunities for people to get more actively involved with the WNDG:
- Weekly Announcements Volunteer: Every week, participants in the WNDG share information about upcoming events in the local area that they believe participants might be interested in. The Weekly Announcements Volunteers record the announcements and send them out to the WNDG E-mail List after the discussions. These volunteers will help people stay connected to the WNDG – even if classes or other commitments keep them from regularly attending the group.
- WNDG E-mail List Moderator: Once the new e-mail list gets up and running, individuals will be requesting permission to be added to the list. Some assistance in managing the e-mail list subscriptions would be most appreciated.
- Facilitators: Of course, there is always a need for individuals to help facilitate the discussions.
If you are interested in assisting in any of the above roles, feel free to speak with the WNDG Facilitator after the discussion or e-mail wndg-owner<at>lists.uwaterloo.ca.

WNDG.ca Now Live!

After some effort, the Wednesday Night Discussion Group now has an official online presence! This web site will be used as the official location for all information about the WNDG.
There are a few more changes that I hope to make over the next few weeks – mainly centred around having closer integration with the Facebook Fan Page and trying to track web site statistics (maybe Google Analytics?). I would very much appreciate any assistance from individuals having experience with either of these!
