At this week’s meeting, I promised to post information about an event this weekend and an exciting volunteer opportunity.
ManJam Oral Dicktation: A celebration of gay men’s art and culture is being held this Sunday Afternoon (April 25th). For more information, check out www.manjam.ca.
Some former discussion attendees are involved in the Ten Oaks Project, “a charitable, volunteer-driven organization that engages and connects children and youth from LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, queer) communities.” (http://www.tenoaksproject.org/about-us.aspx). They are looking for volunteers to help with a Summer Camp in July. You can find out more by visiting http://www.tenoaksproject.org/about-us.aspx.

There will be some construction in our regular meeting room starting next week (April 14) until early May which will prevent us from meeting in the room
Thankfully, UW Bookings was able to find us a temporary location to host our discussions! Starting April 14th, the WNDG will meet in PAS 1241 for a few weeks. This is in the same building as our regular room, just a few floors below.
Sorry for ythe inconvenience!

On Wednesday, March 24th the “Questions from a Hat” discussion group returns! Think of a question you would like to write down and toss into the “hat” as a potential item for discussion.
Also, note that the Guest Speaker from ACCKWA rescheduled to March 31st is unfortunately no longer available. As such, we will have a return performance of the Questions from a “Hat” discussion next week too!

As most people are ready aware, one of our sponsors (GLOW) hosts socials at the UW Grad House following the discissions groups every Wednesday Night! The groups meets on the second floor of the Grad House starting at about 8:45 PM.
Over the past few weeks, there were apparently some miscommunications that resulted in the second floor room not being reserved in time for the gatherings. This was all resolved last week and all should be fine moving forward… with one possible exception…
The Grad House has advised that with March 17th being St. Patrick’s Day, the venue tends to be much busier than usual. The Manager of the Grad House personally called to provide notice that with the larger number of patrons, it may be difficult for the staff to keep the room reserved for our booking. She wanted to provide notice as she did not want individuals to be disappointed if no space was available, especially given all of the efforts to clear up miscommunications last week. The staff do hope that the number of patrons will be lower after 8:30 pm and that they can reserve our regular room for us, but would like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
